Why so reasonable? Good question. This is a not-for-profit club, that’s why. Nobody is making a living out of this. The entire focus is on excellence, NOT profit.
So where does the money go?
Club fees go on renting the dojo and on fully insuring the instructors.
Surely £10/hour clubs are better?
If you want to believe that, well... that’s your privilege. Sensei Palmer is 5th Dan. Sensei Robins is 4th Dan. Between them, they have around 60 years of karate experience and they run the club purely for the love of Shotokan karate, focussing on maintaining the highest traditions of Shotokan. All other instructors are Dan grade and NOBODY makes any money out of it. Chasing fat profits can distort the ultimate values and performance of a club. This just does not happen at Jacksons Lane. Here you will not be pressured into grading before you are ready, -guaranteed.
Jacksons Lane will never be a rich club, but Shotokan is all the richer for clubs like Jacksons Lane.
